How Your Mind Can Help You To Grow Taller.
Aha! the human brain.
So powerful is this organ that I feel humbled when writing about or discussing it.
As a matter of fact, you can’t afford to ignore it as you endeavor to achieve your desired goal in whatever discipline.
The most important tool you have is your mind.
In the brain, resides the mind which encompasses our;
Thoughts · Intellect · Memories · Experiences · emotion · Imagination and Perception .
Take a closer look at all the above aspects of the human mind.
All of them are necessary to achieve our goals or to be successful at any undertaking.
In fact, you may not realize it, but all of them may work in tandem to achieve any goal.
Your memories, experiences or emotions can trigger a thought in form of an Inspiration or hunch.
This in turn may arouse your imagination and act as a gateway to new possibilities before acting towards achieving a certain goal.
So, I hope you understand why you can’t afford to neglect your mind if you need to achieve greatness.
I started by acknowledging that I feel humbled by this organ, but I never explained why.
The reason is simple. It’s full potential is infinite.
Not only because the brain contains billions of interconnected neurons, but it also acts as a conduit for access to infinite intelligence.
The Mind sections
Before we proceed, bear in mind that the famed psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud divided the mind into two operating sections;
The conscious and subconscious.
An image of an Iceberg was used to illustrate the two sections;
The tip above the water being the conscious mind.
The vast, submerged mass below is the subconscious.
The different roles played by the two sections of the mind are discussed further below
The Conscious Section
In brief , the conscious section is the one we consciously use t to reason, evaluate, plan and create.
It accounts for roughly 10% of your total mental capacity.
It is active when you are deliberately thinking through a decision.
The Sub conscious Section
This is a wider section of the mind that’s why in the iceberg illustration above, the subconscious section is represented by the larger yet submerged section of the iceberg.
It operates involuntarily and it’s where memories, life experiences and instincts that automatically influence our day to day behavior are stored.
Here is what this means practically.
You can consciously decide you want to grow taller.
But if the subconscious is carrying the belief that it is impossible, that deeper conviction will quietly undermine everything .
Your consistency, your discipline, your interpretation of early results.
You will find reasons to quit that feel logical but are really emotional.
Taking charge of the subconscious is not just an extra.
For anyone serious about this objective, it is simply the first and most important step.
Famous author Napoleon Hill described the subconscious mind as the gateway to what he called Infinite Intelligence.
Some call it God, others the universe.
But it’s generally believed that it’s the source of of creative force.
The source behind every genuine breakthrough, every creative insight, every solution that arrives seemingly from nowhere.
Artists, inventors and great thinkers have always known this space, even if they called it by different names.
The point is simple:
There is a limit to what the conscious, analytical mind can achieve on its own.
The bigger power lives beneath it.

The Hidden Danger of Negative Self Talk
Self-talk is the internal monologue that runs almost constantly.
the muffled words you say to yourself while going about your day.
Most people never pay attention to it.
That is a costly mistake, because self-talk is a direct reflection of subconscious belief.
When you tell yourself, even quietly, this probably won’t work for me or I’m just built this way, those are not harmless passing thoughts.
They are instructions.
The subconscious does not evaluate them critically, it simply acts on them.
These may only seem muffled words but don’t be surprised if those very muffled words become reality.
What we think normally becomes reality.
No wonder most self help gurus tell you that you are a reflection of your thoughts and you are where you are because of your way of thinking
For instance; consciously you may say you want to earn say $100k a year but at the moment you earn less than 20k a year .
Either just enough or not even enough to cover all your expenses.
So, you are barely keeping your nose above the water.
Deep down or at a subconscious level you know earing 100k a year is farfetched.
25k a year is more plausible, realistic and still a good target.
So, your self talk goes like.. ”
I wish I can at least make 25k a year”.
What do you think will become the reality?
100k or 25k?
What we say to ourselves is what we believe.
It’s what our mind strongly picks up and works towards achieving because it’s said with the emotion of faith and belief.
The words you say without faith are just that…empty wishes.
100k is your desirable target, but in your mind, you are wiling to settle for 25k to at least settle all your bills and save something.
The lack of faith in our abilities or potential, the doubts, the lack of enthusiasm etc all happens at a subconscious level first before manifesting in reality.
You want to increase height but deep down you don’t believe it’s possible.
What do you think will be the outcome?
Will you even bother to take any action?
Remember; There are no limits to what we can achieve except those acknowledged by our minds.
In simple terms, change your beliefs, and change your outcomes.
Again, this doesn’t happen as easy as stealing candy from a baby, but with the right attitude and mindset, it’s feasible.
We naturally tend to find it a lot easier to have negative self talk than positive self talk which affects our mood, increases stress levels and keeps us pessimistic about everything.
Instead of being open minded and pushing for a positive outcome, we give up so easily.
psychologists call this negativity bias.
What is the Negativity Bias?
It is the notion that things of a more negative nature like unpleasant thoughts, emotions, or social interactions have a greater effect on one’s psychological state and processes than neutral or positive events. [1]
When you are making progress towards achieving your goal and something negative happens along the way be it in form of negative information, obstacle or challenge, many will simply be distracted and either give up or simply lose focus unless you are gutsy.
In other words; something very positive will generally have less of an impact on a person’s behavior, wellbeing and cognition than something equally emotional but negative.
That’s why taking charge of your mind is extremely critical.
Practical Mental Techniques for Reprograming The mind
The mental side of this is not abstract.
There are specific, repeatable techniques that people have used to reprogram subconscious beliefs and redirect the mind toward a desired outcome.
These are the ones I consider genuinely useful for anyone pursuing height increase after puberty.
Visualization
Every couple of days, take time to clearly imagine yourself at your goal height.
Don’t just wish for it; see it as something that is already happening.
Visualizing goals activates brain regions similar to real experiences, enhancing motivation.
The brain’s mirror neurons fire during both physical actions and their visualization, strengthening neural pathways via neuroplasticity.[2]
This process, shown in studies like Dr.
Alvaro Pascual-Leone’s piano practice experiment, produces brain changes nearly matching actual training.
Auto-Suggestion
Choosing to say specific words to yourself with strong feeling, and doing it over and over until the subconscious accepts it as belief.
The key word is emotion.
A statement said flatly has little effect. Said with genuine conviction and feeling, it begins to shift the internal narrative over time.

Subconscious Reprogramming
A broader term covering the sustained practice of replacing limiting beliefs with empowering ones.
It is not a single technique but a daily discipline. Monitoring your self-talk, guarding what information you allow in, and deliberately reinforcing the beliefs you want to build.
Self-Image Reshaping
Think of your self-image as a manual for what you believe is possible in your life.
If that manual says you’re stuck at your current height, your brain is going to fight any change like a bodyguard.
To really grow, you have to toss that old manual.
You need to build a fresh, vivid picture of the person you’re becoming. And You have to stick with that new vision until it feels more real than the floor beneath your feet..
Final thoughts
Your mind can’t directly make you taller, but it controls every single thing that can.
Your consistency, your sleep quality, your stress levels, your hormone environment, your posture habits, and most critically, whether you stay in the game long enough for any physical method to actually work.
Most people who fail at this quit before the process has a real chance, and almost always, the quit happens in the mind before it happens in the body.
